The funds are designated for:
- The construction of new classrooms
- Provision of science equipment
- Professional development programs for teachers
The Speaker emphasized the government's commitment to quality education. The allocation follows a national audit highlighting critical infrastructure deficits in several schools.
The Minister of Education outlined a phased implementation plan, prioritizing underserved areas. The Ghana National Association of Teachers welcomed the decision but called for sustained investment. Construction contracts are expected to be awarded within the next month.
